Cosentyx contains secukinumab, a monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits IL-17A, a protein involved in inflammatory and immune responses. It helps reduce inflammation and control symptoms in chronic autoimmune conditions.
Indications:

Treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in adults who are candidates for systemic therapy or biologic treatment.

Treatment of psoriatic arthritis (PsA).

Treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (AS).

Treatment of non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis with objective signs of inflammation.

Treatment of certain types of juvenile arthritis.
Warnings & Precautions:

Must be administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

May increase the risk of infections (respiratory tract infections, skin infections, etc.).

Should not be used in patients with active severe infections.

Inform your doctor if you have chronic bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis) as symptoms may worsen.

Not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly necessary.

Breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment and for a period after the last dose (as advised by the doctor).
